WORLD WAR 1 COMMEMORATION

HOPE TOGETHER offers resources for any churches engaging in their local commemoration of World war1 events.

  • We particularly draw your attention to the SGM Lifewords resource of a replica John's Gospel to those given to people in the forces engaged in WW1.  There is a suggested donation of 60p each for these.  Why not arrange with your village school to supply one free for every child or family?
  • Many villages will hold a special service on August 4th similar to that to be held at Westminster Abbety where it will be steadilly darkened to remember the start of that awful event.

Whole villages were devastated through WW2 tactics of putting men from the same village and those nearby to fight in the same units.

All resources can be found via the Hope Together website.
